In 2022, W.R. Newman & Associates, Inc. partnered with Thomaston, GA based national car wash company, Tidal Wave Auto Spa, who currently has over 100 active locations throughout the United States with plans for continued national growth. Tidal Wave is one of the fastest-growing express car wash companies in the country.

4 Wheel Parts

In 2018, W.R. Newman and Associates, Inc. teamed up with 4 Wheel Parts to open retail stores across the country.  W.R. Newman has been involved in the construction of the stores in Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, South Carolina, Florida, Texas, Maryland and Florida.  4 Wheel Parts serves customers across the country and around the globe.

ABRA AUTO BODY & GLASS

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. remodeled this existing 26,000 SF building in Nashville, TN for ABRA Auto Body & Glass. ABRA was founded in 1984 in Fridley, MN and is a leading auto body and windshield glass repair company with locations throughout the United States.

AUTOZONE

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. has constructed AutoZone stores in Louisa, KY; Bartlett, TN; and Cookeville, TN ranging from 6,000 to 8,000 SF. Headquartered in Memphis, TN, AutoZone is the leading retailer and a leading distributor of automotive replacement parts and accessories.

FIRESTONE

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. has constructed multiple Firestone Complete Auto Care buildings across the Southeast United States. The service centers are 7,700 SF on average. Firestone Complete Auto Care is the leading provider of automotive maintenance, repairs, and tires.

O’Reilly’s auto parts

W.R. Newman & Associates, Inc. has served O’Reilly’s Auto Parts through constructing their stores in Bowling Green, KY and Nipomo, CA.

SOMERSET TIRE SERVICE

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. has constructed eight Somerset Tire Service buildings in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, each averaging 5,970 SF. Somerset Tire Service, one of the largest retail tire chains in the Northeast, was sold to Mavis Discount Tire in 2015. Mavis Discount Tire is one of the largest independent multi-brand tire dealers in the United States.

CareNow Urgent Care:
Murfreesboro Medical Center Parkway

This project was a buildout of a shell space, also built by WR Newman.  CareNow is an walk-in urgent care facility located on Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Chelsea Gardens

Chelsea Gardens is a 35,234 SF assisted living facility. It consists of 60 private rooms (with bath) measuring approximately 250 SF each. The project was completed by W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. in 2012 and includes an administrative wing, physical therapy room, setting area, dining room, kitchen, laundry, and other amenities.

Dialysis Clinic, INC

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. has constructed over 110 dialysis clinics owned by Dialysis Clinic, Incorporated (DCI) - the nation’s premier operator of free standing dialysis centers. We provide construction services for new ground up clinics averaging 10,000 SF and remodeling/modernizing of existing facilities. During the construction phase, great care is taken so that patient treatment is not interrupted. We provide assistance with all building phases of the project, including but not limited to site selection, preliminary cost budgets, and value engineering through the design phase and during construction.

Nephrology Access Center - Nashville, TN

The project was a 4,200 SF renovation of an existing building. We demolished the entire interior. The build-out included the installation of new walls, ceilings, flooring, paint, casework, MP&E and fire suppression. This facility has two procedure rooms, six pre- and post-procedure bays, multiple offices, and a conference room and was opened to the public in 2014.

TOWN CENTER MEDICAL PLAZA – MT. JULIET, TN

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. constructed this 41,000 SF, two-story medical office building located in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, a growing suburb of Nashville. The project was completed for Agilitas Property Development, a mixed use and medical office development firm in Nashville, TN. The complex included the construction of the shell building for the Town Center Medical Building along with a 2,500 SF pharmacy, a 5,500 SF family medical practice, and a 20,000 SF pediatric office. It also included Phase 1 of the infrastructure for the Town Center development.

KIRKWOOD PLACE APARTMENTs - Clarksville, TN

W.R. Newman constructed phase 1 of the Kirkwood Place apartment facility in Clarksville, Tennessee in a total construction time of 18 months. The project consisted of 1 clubhouse with a pool and other amenities, 11 apartment buildings with a total of 280 units and 7 garage buildings. The apartments vary in size from 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom units. The project was phased to allow completion and occupancy of apartment buildings as soon as possible. The first apartment building was completed and occupied just 7 months after the start of construction, and then 1 building was completed and occupied each month until the entire project was finished.

Cupertino Apartments -
Cupertino, California

This apartment complex on North Foothills Boulevard in Cupertino, California comprised of 17 units plus garages, courtyard, landscaping and impervious drives and parking. The 17 units range from studio apartments to 2 bedroom units. This complex is located 3 miles west of the Apple Headquarters in Cupertino, just outside of San Jose, CA and in the heart of the silicon valley. The construction of this project was a slab on grade lower floors and then wood framed construction above. Total construction time for the Cupertino Apartments was 16 months.

The Mill at White House

W.R Newman started construction of The Mill at White House apartment complex in White House, Tennessee in Spring of 2023. This project consists of 1 clubhouse with pool, gym, common areas and other amenities, 9 apartment buildings with a total of 218 apartment units and 6 garage buildings. This project has expected occupancy of the first buildings in Spring of 2024 with final complete in the Fall of 2024.

THE RESERVE AT KIRKWOOD

W.R. Newman completed The Reserve at Kirkwood apartment facility in Clarksville, Tennessee in the Fall of 2024. This apartment complex is Phase II of the Kirkwood Place apartments, and was completed in under 16 months. This phase of the project included 11 apartment buildings with 264 total units, 4 garages, a dog park, playground and a clubhouse with a pool and all amenities.

AIM HEALTHCARE I & II

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. constructed Aim Healthcare’s first three-story 60,000 SF office building in 2003. Two years later we constructed a design-build “sister” building.

Caldwell
Professional Plaza

Caldwell Professional Plaza is a two-story, 22,000 SF mix-use office building situated in the heart of Mt. Juliet’s business district. W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. originally constructed the building’s shell, including the elevator, and finish-out of the lobby area. W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. also completed the build-out of approximately 50% of the remaining tenant space.

ELECTRIC
PICTURE COMPANY

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. constructed this 10,000 SF ground up building. In 1997, the building won the American Building Company “Design of the Year Award” for projects under $1 million. Tenants include TapeOnline.com and LifeView Outdoors.

RMA Law offices

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. constructed this 8,000 SF design/build office complex. The building is located on the former Castle Heights Military academy grounds. A later addition, completed by W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. in 2007, approximately doubled the building’s size.

 

Wise industries, inc

W.R. Newman & Associates, Inc. handled the design and construction of Wise Industries, Inc., a 36,000 SF manufacturing facility in Old Hickory, TN. Wise Industries produces and supplies exterior and interior components to the automotive industry.

 
 

RESTAURANTS


CAMP MARYMOUNT

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. constructed the rustic 20,000 SF Dining/Conference Hall for Camp Marymount, a historic camp located in Fairview, TN, just outside of Nashville. The building includes a full service commercial grade kitchen, fireplace, gathering hall, and wrap around covered porch.

Little Caesars

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. constructed this 4,800 SF three-tenant building located in Nashville, TN. Each tenant space is 1,600 SF. The anchor tenant is a Little Caesars restaurant, the third largest pizza chain in the United States.

McDonalds

W.R. Newman & Associates, Inc. has completed over 20 projects for McDonald’s USA, LLC since 2010. These projects include “tear down/rebuild” of existing restaurants, ground up construction of new restaurants, and “Major Remodel Projects” (MRP). We continue to successfully meet the goals of McDonald’s USA by adhering to aggressive schedules and “finish quality” expectations. Our proven track record is one of the reasons we are at the top of the list when it comes to providing construction services for McDonald’s and their operators.

Rolf and Daughters

Rolf and Daughters is a restaurant located in Nashville’s Germantown. W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. completed the renovation and build out of the 100-year-old Werthan factory boiler building. The restaurant is part of a high-profile redevelopment known as The Werthan Lofts and includes 18-foot ceilings, exposed brick and concrete, and charming iron windows across the front facade.

 
 

Retail


Sportsman Warehouse

In 2022, W.R. Newman began construction of the first of many locations for Midvale, UT based retailer, Sportsman’s Warehouse.  These retail locations range from 10,000 sf to 60,000 sf, and are both ground up sites and retrofitting into existing spaces. 

AMAZON RETAIL & DISTRIBUTION STORE

W.R. Newman & Associates, Inc. constructed the “Amazon Campus” pick up location for Amazon.com for Penn State in State College are currently constructing another store at the University of Pittsburgh campus. Both locations distribute purchases to Amazon Prime members/students on college campuses across the country. The scope of work at this Penn State location included extensive demolition and IT work during the conversion of a 10,000 SF space that was previously occupied by Abercrombie & Fitch.

Dollar General

W.R. Newman & Associates, Inc. completed the Dollar General store in Lothian, Maryland. This project included the construction of Dollar General’s prototype retail store along with the site and state highway improvements required by the State of Maryland. The site was located in a rural area with no access to water or sewer. Scope of work encompassed the construction of a 55,000 gallon water storage tank and pump system to serve Dollar General with automatic fire protection.

Other Dollar General Stores constructed by W.R. Newman in the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland and Texas.

Graves crossing

This retail development is located in the heart of Mt. Juliet just south of Providence Marketplace, Mt. Juliet’s premier place for shopping and dining. W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. completed three 8,000 SF retail buildings, including the construction of all infrastructure for the Graves Crossing development. The existing site conditions on this project required blasting of solid rock and the on-site relocation of 75,000 CY of material.

Greenbrier Plaza

Greenbrier Plaza is a three-tenant retail building in the Green Hills area of Nashville, TN. The building was constructed in a high traffic, congested mall area. After the initial construction phase, W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. was responsible for to the build-out of the Live Love Yogurt tenant space.

Retail Center at Clarksville, TN

This development is a three-tenant, 9,200± retail center located in Clarksville, TN. Tenants include Starbucks, Mattress Firm, and Aspen Dental. W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. was responsible for the build-out of the Mattress Firm.

Retail Center - Southaven, MS

W. R. Newman & Associates, Inc. constructed this 7,212 SF two-tenant building in this Memphis, TN suburb. Tenants include Mattress Firm and Aspen Dental.

Shoot Point Blank - Memphis, tN

This 20,000 sf building and site improvements was constructed for Cincinnati based STNL Development.  The facility includes an indoor shooting range, associated ventilation equipment, retail space and training rooms.  It is located at Exit 14 on I-40 just a few miles east of downtown Memphis.

Town Center Retail

This multi-building retail center was constructed in the Town Center development in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Along with building 18,000 SF of retail shells, W.R. Newman & Associates, Inc. completed Phase II of the infrastructure at the Town Center development, including water and sewer main extensions and the widening of Division Street, one of Mt. Juliet’s busiest thoroughfares.

Tractor Supply Company

W.R. Newman & Associates, Inc. has completed more than 700 projects for Tractor Supply Company (TSC) in 39 states coast to coast since 1990. The majority of these projects have been construction of TSC’s ground up prototype buildings. We are involved with TSC and their developers from the budget phase to project completion and opening of the stores. Our continued quality and on time completion of TSC projects has led to the success of our valuable relationship with TSC and their developers.

HYVEE Grocery

WR Newman completed 2 projects for Hyvee Grocery and Cocca Development. The first project was located in Nebraska City, Nebraska and the other in Independence, Iowa. Both were Hyvee’s “Dollar Fresh” concept, which is an approximately 25,000 square foot, smaller footprint facility designed for smaller markets. Both projects were incredibly successful for Hyvee and their developer, Anthony Cocca.

WALGREENS

In 2020, W.R. Newman began a partnership with Walgreens and Cocca Development to construct their new “Small Format” stores in various markets.  These stores consist of a pharmacy, with a drive through, and an abbreviated selection of retail and over the counter items.  Shortly into the partnership, W.R. Newman developed a pre-fabricated system of construction to improve construction efficiency, condense construction time and reduce waste.
